Here’s the 5th participating retailer that’s a part of BYO Singapore campaign! Located in the campus of National University of Singapore (NUS), specifically in one of the residential colleges, College of Alice and Peter Tan (CAPT) within University town: It’s Foreword Coffee! We had the pleasure of meeting its co-founder, Lim Wei Jie, who shared about Foreword Coffee’s green efforts such as using compostable cups and giving their used coffee grounds to gardening communities. Here’s more about them!
Foreword Coffee is a purveyor of freshly roasted coffee; we serve our coffee within 72 hours from the time that the beans leave the coffee roaster. Our coffee is sourced mainly from Asia and imported directly from farmers and cooperatives, thereby contributing positively to the local communities. We value our customers’ coffee experience, and we seek to make it meaningful for everyone. Playing a part for the environment, Foreword Coffee uses compostable paper cups (including our plastic lids!) but highly encourage customers to bring your own cups (BYOC) for our coffee and drinks. We believe that sustainable consumption is necessary in the specialty coffee industry, and hopefully more consumers will understand and support the sustainability movement.
